Tick Tock Ticking

So, how will this finally end up today, doc?

The avalanche of patients seemed endless. He was starting to get really tired. It had been a long day already. He looked up at the perfectly regular ticking of the clock on the wall. They showed 2:25 pm. So I will take only one more, he thought for himself. And the rest? Oh well, what a shame, you weren’t chosen. Try your luck again another time!
„Leslie, call the last patient.“
The nurse just nodded and opened the door. But the waiting room was empty. Even though only a few minutes ago several voices could be heard from there.
„Doctor, there’s no one more sitting there anymore.“
„How…“, he started but then smiled. „Oh well, good for us. Today wasn’t so terrible after all.“
She smiled too. „So it means that today I can leave a bit earlier, please?“
„Of course, Leslie. I just need to check some emails and also will go.“
„So see you tomorrow, doctor.“
„Take care, sweetheart.“
He waited till she grab her purse and close the door. He sighed. He wanted to go home as well but remembered that he need to reply to few mails, especially the one about IDC – International Dental Conference.

He sat and put hands on keyboard. He wanted to finish all work as soon as possible because today early evening should play his favourite NBA team. He opened Outlook and looked for messages.
Suddenly he heard two slight knocking on the door. He paused, raised head and turned on the chair with wheels. Nothing was heard again, so he assumed he was just dreaming. He looked back at the monitor.
Another double knocking, a bit louder this time.
„The office hours are over, come back another time,“ he raised voice.
Quiet.
He listened, both hands still placed on keyboard, looking straight at the door. He stayed in that position for more than half a minute. But no more further sound. He quickly checked the time on computer. 3:05. Good, good, he said to himself, that was the last email.

Something was wrong. He recognized it immediately even thought he wasn’t able to name it first. He raised his eyebrows and turned head. There was no more ticking. And when he looked up, he gasped. The clock still stubbornly showed 2:25. It was really strange because they changed the batteries just two weeks ago. So it was nonsence.
All of a sudden he heard pretty loud knocking. But it seemed that it came right from inside his skull.
ClockClock. ClockClock.
He stood, quickly ran to the door and open them widely. No one was there.
„Am I loosing my mind?“ he laughed but in empty room it sounded kinda terrifying and so he left it at that.
CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK.
This time it was much louder that he screamed and hit his head hard with hand. With nails on the second hand he started rubbing a face untill first bloody drops appeared.
„What the fuck is going on?“
Immediatelly as soon as he finished saying that sentence, he felt a strong force pull him away from the door and moving into the dentist’s chair. He couldn’t resist it.
The door slammed loudly.
He shouted.
At first he thought he was no longer holding by anything. But when he tried to get up from the chair, he was immediately pushed back into the backrest.
CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK. CLOCKCLOCK.CLOCKCLOCK.
„No,no, STOP IT NOW!“ he yelled and keep hitting head. He had feeling as he was playing table tennis with brain from side to side in his skull.
„IT HURTS! HELP ME! ANYBODY!!“
He was constantly furiously beating his head with fists. The knocking could still be heard but it seemed to be slowly dying down. The man was still tilting his head from side to side. It really felt like his brain was floating freely there.
He heard ticking again but when he somehow decided to raise his head, he realized it was actually real ticking of the clock. The clock was showing 3:15.
He stood up. So it was all just a dream after all, he thought. He looked at his hands. They were covered in blood.
Before he could scream in surprise, his head spun violently and he fell back into the dentist’s chair, hitting his head hard on the back.
It started again – the old familiar sound of inside knocking. Hands automatically leaded to the head but this time they stopped just in front of his face and both wrists started turning from side to side. Over and over again
All of a sudden all stopped. The man fast placed his palms deep into his mouth. It wasn’t pleassant at all and he felt to vomit. But then, with a furiously quick movement, he abruptly pulled his hands away from him. There was a loud, distasteful crunching sound. And also an inhuman roar. Blood gushed from the opening hole, mixing with saliva. Few teeth fell down on the ground.
Doctor’s body was all shaking.
And then, abruptly and immediately, some kind of black mass started to form in man’s new big mouth. It was flowing out of him. A large dark slop formed under the dentist’s chair. The black mass began to rise and create a figure – a demon, the embodiment of the worst that a person can have within themselves.

Dark shape opened the door and went looking for another host.

THIS is the end, this is your end, doc!
